Overview

We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst who will work closely with our Director of IS Solutions and our business partners to define, design, test, and support the solutions that we deliver.

 

Responsibilities

  • Explore, identify, and document business requirements, focusing on understanding and prioritizing business dependencies and exposing root causes
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Develop functional requirements based on the gathered business requirements and participate in technical design to ensure requirements are met
  • Perform testing and facilitate user-acceptance testing of applications, develop training materials and assist with training business application champions
  • Evaluate application software packages for alignment with business needs and recognize and articulate business and technical decision trade-offs
  • Facilitate, capture, and design sessions with business teams and/or conduct interview-style meetings with subject matter experts to validate and document policy, inputs, outputs, activities, exceptions, and workflows
  • Lead gap analysis, business process re-engineering, requirements gathering, and problem-solving activities to meet the business needs
  • Work with business partners to identify opportunities to improve productivity or efficiency in business processes and define requirements with the business to create solutions to achieve those improvements
  • Assist with resolution of application problems that can be solved through system administration and/or system configuration such as creation and enhancement of reports or dashboards
  • Participate in planning and prioritizing of system maintenance
  • Maintain proficient knowledge and adhere to project management and software delivery methodologies
  • Serve as subject matter expert on projects and related applications
  • Participate in key IT projects and serve as project manager as assigned
  • Ensure required project documentation is current and accurate
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field
  • Knowledge of BPMN is helpful
  • Experience with requirements gathering for technical solutions, requirements analysis, or business process re-engineering
  • 2+ years of business or consulting experience in business analysis, system analysis, process improvement/re-engineering, or related experience
  • Experience with core business applications (ERP) and Microsoft technologies such as Power Platform, Dynamics and Fabric
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as facilitation and collaboration skills
  • Good negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Some travel may be required as needed to support initiatives
